Bibby Line Group

Designing a new REDD+ Project

Corporate Social Responsibility
“Like many businesses, we want to give something back, but it’s hard to know how we can make a real difference. UBoC enables us to support a verified project which we know will deliver and I believe that if businesses work together in this way, we can have a huge impact.”
Sir Michael Bibby, chief executive, Bibby Line Group

  • Bibby Line Group, a global company with interests in shipping, logistics and financial services, is investing in the design of a forest protection project in order to contribute to its CSR targets and to explore opportunities in the voluntary carbon market.
  • The World Land Trust (WLT), working in collaboration with its in-country project partner Wildlife Trust for India, is designing the project, as a pilot REDD+ project, which will meet internationally recognised voluntary standards for carbon projects and deliver strong biodiversity and community co-benefits.
  • The project is intended to facilitate the protection of endangered forest as well as help regenerate areas of degraded forest. The aim of the project is to generate verified CO2 emission reductions over the project lifetime.
