Background
Deforestation and a shortage of forest products are causing serious hardship for local communities.
Project Objectives
Expand the “buffer zone” and reduce pressure on the El Ocote Biosphere Reserve.
Project Activities
Establish small tree plantations including timber and fruit trees on deforested pasture areas. Management and restoration of degraded forests.
