Background
The Los Amigos Conservation Concession forms part of nearly 8 million hectares of protected forest in SE Peru. The area is threatened by the new Brazil-Peru inter-oceanic highway.
Project Objectives
Ensure sustainable long lasting protection for the Los Amigos forests including economic and social benefits for local people.
Project Activities
Develop a world-class research centre, establish new models for forest conservation through development of carbon and biodiversity offsets, community outreach.
